Large edge-excitation red shift for a merocyanine dye in poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer matrix
The observed large edge‐excitation red shift of the fluorescence of a merocyanine dye in a polyvinyl alcohol polymer matrix is explained in terms of a matrix that is rigid enough at room temperature to prevent complete equilibration between different solvation sites.
