Zusammenfassung:This paper deals with a kinetic study of methyl methacrylate polymerization in the presence of a bifunctional initiator, viz. N,N′‐bis[(4‐t‐butylazo‐4‐cyanovaleryl) The activation energy of the first step in thermal decomposition has been determined (Ed = 74.5 kJ/mol) using the gas chromatographic method. A dilatometric study led to the reaction order with respect to the initiator, as well as the overall activation energy of polymerization (E = 78.5 kJ/mol).
