Zusammenfassung: | A reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic method for the separation and identification of some chalcones is reported. The system consists of a Lichrospher 100 RP‐18 Merck column and a combination of isocratic and linear gradient elution with water:acetic acid (99:1) and methanol as solvents. Well‐resolved and symmetrical peaks were obtained for a wide range of these compounds with a variety of substitution patterns. The effect of the number, position, type of substituents and the size of the molecules on the chromatographic behaviour of chalcones have been discussed. Some unpublished ultraviolet data of chalcones are also reported. |
