Zusammenfassung:Injury to the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) is recognized as a potentially serious complication of a wide range of dental procedures. Treatment options include nonsurgical therapies, surgical intervention, or a combination of these techniques. However, no consensus exists regarding the timing of treatment or the preferred intervention modalities for each case. This study aims to provide an overview of the literature regarding the management and treatment modalities of IAN injuries. We conducted a search using keywords such as “management,” “inferior alveolar nerve,” and “injury.” Related English‐language articles were identified through electronic databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, up to June 2023. Due to the limited quality and quantity of studies and the conflicting results regarding various treatments for injured IANs, further research and randomized clinical trials are necessary to establish the optimal treatment protocol for medications, laser therapy, and surgical procedures.
