Acinic cell carcinoma of the buccal mucosa with reconstruction by submental island flap

Background We report a case of acinic cell carcinoma (AciCC) of the buccal mucosa with reconstruction by submental island flap. Case Presentation A 79‐year‐old man became aware of a mass on his left buccal mucosa. We diagnosed AciCC and performed resection of malignant salivary gland tumor of buccal mucosa and reconstruction with submental island flap. Conclusion Submental island flap is considered to be one of the useful options for local reconstruction in the head and neck region, including oral cancer.
