The Assay of Red Squill Powder; An Investigation of Possible Chemical Procedures

Ultraviolet absorption, acetyl content, lead tetraacetate oxidation, and the Liebermann reaction have been investigated in an attempt to correlate the chemical behavior of red squill extracts with toxicity to rats. The Liebermann reaction, when applied to a partially concentrated fraction appears to...

Zusammenfassung:Ultraviolet absorption, acetyl content, lead tetraacetate oxidation, and the Liebermann reaction have been investigated in an attempt to correlate the chemical behavior of red squill extracts with toxicity to rats. The Liebermann reaction, when applied to a partially concentrated fraction appears to be useful in estimating the toxicity of red squill powders.
