Substituted Tetralins III: Synthesis and Analgesic Activities of Some Substituted 2-Methyl- and 2-Benzyl-4,4-dimethyl-2-aminotetralins

The synthesis of five 2-methyl- and 2-benzyl-4,4-dimethyl-2-aminotetralins is described and their analgesic potencies are reported. The introduction of methyl or benzyl substituents in the 2-position does not appear to significantly affect analgesic potency in the 2-aminotetralin series.
