Zusammenfassung:Seventeen amide and urea derivatives of bromal and dichloroacetaldehyde and one brominated derivative of butyl acrylamide were synthesized and their physical constants determined. These compounds were subjected to tests for antifungal activity toward Trichophyton rubrum, Microsporum gypsum, and Aspergillus niger. All but one of the bromal compounds studied showed fungus-inhibiting properties; of the dichloroacetaldehyde derivatives, however, only the acrylamide and methacrylamide derivatives indicated activity. Total halogen content and terminal halogen groups appeared to be factors in enhancing the antifungal activity.
