Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 2-(Pyrazol-1-yl)-methyl-3,5-dicarboethoxy-6-methyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dihydropyridine

The title compound, 2‐(Pyrazol‐1‐yl)‐methyl‐3,5‐dicarboethoxy‐6‐methyl‐4‐(3‐nitrophenyl)‐1,4‐dihydropyridine, has been synthesized and the crystal structure of it (C22H24N4O6, P21/c, a = 9.050, b = 22.259, c = 12.253 Å, β = 90.07°, Z = 4) has been determined by X‐ray analysis. In the crystal structure compound 3 exhibits orthogonal arrangement of the phenyl ring with the nitro substituent synperiplanar (sp) respect to the C(4) hydrogen of the dihydropyridine ring. In addition the ester groups assume a cis/cis arrangement. The crystal structure of 2‐(Pyrazol‐1‐yl)‐methyl‐3,5‐dicarboethoxy‐6‐methyl‐4‐(3‐nitrophenyl)‐1,4‐dihydropyridine has been determined by X ‐ ray analysis.
