Zusammenfassung: | The Front Cover illustrates a direct dehydroxylative cyanation of benzylic alcohols by using TMSCN. The combination of p‐TsOH and HFIP allows this conversion to take place outside the cage, that is, under open‐flask conditions (inside the cage means in a flask that is strictly free of air and moisture). The present protocol is applicable to the efficient synthesis of useful intermediates for pharmaceuticals and natural products as well as late‐stage material transformations.
