Cover Picture: Fluorous Synthesis of Hydantoin-, Piperazinedione-, and Benzodiazepinedione-Fused Tricyclic and Tetracyclic Ring Systems (Eur. J. Org. Chem. 9/2006)

The cover picture shows a range of molecular scaffolds that can be achieved through fluorous enhanced diversity‐oriented synthesis. Construction of the ring skeletons is accomplished by multicomponent reactions followed by post‐condensation modifications. The reactions are accelerated by microwave irradiation, and purifications are facilitated by fluorous separation. This new solution‐phase synthetic technique is presented in the Short Communication by W. Zhang et al. on p. 2055 ff.
