Zusammenfassung: | The water acceleration of the nucleophilic opening of cyclohexadiene monoepoxide is investigated theoretically. The results show that the water catalyst accelerates the reaction not only by assisting the proton‐transfer step but also by strengthening the entering and leaving groups through a charge‐transfer process that is induced by the different strengths between two proton‐transfer processes. |
