Zusammenfassung:In the optimum design of large structures, the greater part of the computation time is consumed in stress reanalysis. The internal force expansion method is proposed to reduce the computation time; it is more efficient than the well‐known stress expansion method. Experience shows that only two iteration cycles are required when this method is applied in structural optimization.
