ChemInform Abstract: Tandem Hydroboration/Reduction of Trisubstituted β,γ-Unsaturated Esters for the Asymmetric Synthesis of Chiral 1,3-Diols

Hydroboration/reduction of β,γ‐unsaturated esters with (‐)‐isopinocampheylborane, followed by oxidation with alkaline hydrogen peroxide results in the formation of optically active 1,3‐diols.
