ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of ZrB 2 Powders by Carbothermal and Borothermal Reduction

The synthesis methods of ZrB 2 powders using ZrO 2 + B 2 O 3 + C (carbothermal reduction), ZrO 2 + B 4 C (boron carbide reduction), and ZrO 2 + B 4 C + C (combined reduction) at 1250 °C for 1—3 h under flowing Ar are compared.
