ChemInform Abstract: 3-Thiolated 2-Azetidinones: Synthesis and in vitro Antibacterial and Antifungal Activities

A series of azetidinones of type (III) (27 examples) is prepared by the Staudinger cycloaddition reaction of Schiff bases with S‐substituted mercaptoacetic acids in the presence of the Vilsmeier reagent.
