ChemInform Abstract: Cyclocondensation of 2-Iodobenzaldehyde with Benzamidines Catalyzed by Copper(I) Iodide: A Route to 2-Arylquinazolines

2‐Arylquinazolines (III) are synthesized in good yields, whereas the use of 2‐bromobenzaldehyde (IV) affords low yields due to a competing reaction leading to dihydrotriazine (V).
