ChemInform Abstract: N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Catalyzed Tandem Aza-Benzoin/Michael Reactions: On Site Reversal of the Reactivity of N-Boc Imines

A highly stereoselective tandem N‐heterocyclic carbene‐catalyzed aza‐benzoin/Michael reaction as a method to efficiently afford dihydroindenones (III) and pyrrolidinone‐containing tricycles (IV) is described.
