ChemInform Abstract: Stabilization of Th 3+ Ions into Mixed‐Valence Thorium Fluoride

Li 2+x Th 12 F 50 (0 < x < 1.8) is prepared by solid state reaction of an 1:4 mixture of LiF and ThF 4 (Pt tube, 550 °C, 72 h) and characterized by powder XRD, 7 Li MAS NMR and EPR spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry.
