ChemInform Abstract: Amide Activation by Tf 2 O: Reduction of Amides to Amines by NaBH 4 under Mild Conditions
The reaction of triflic anhydride with amides generates a highly electrophilic iminium triflate intermediate which is reduced by NaBH 4 to give the target amines.
