Zusammenfassung:The ability of coordination cages to accommodate guests in their cavities is crucial to functions relating to catalysis, sensing and drug delivery. Consequently, understanding properly the number and type of guests that can bind is essential for development of new functions. In this work we show how a series of guests which apparently give 1:1 H⋅G binding in a cage according to titrations performed in dilute solution show, in the solid state, 1:2 H⋅G2 complex formation with the pairs of bound guests giving very high packing coefficients (up to 87 %).
