Zusammenfassung:The new pedestrian and bicycle bridge in Castrop Rauxel is part of the “Emscherland” project, a nature and water experience park. “Emscherland” is a joint project of the Emschergenossenschaft with the adjacent municipalities of Castrop‐Rauxel, Recklinghausen, Herne and Herten. The total length of the bridge is 412 meters, and the usable width of the pedestrian and bike path is 2.50 meters. The weight of the steel structure is 900 tons. A highlight of the assembly work is the floating‐in of the bridge section (70 meters long and weighing 105 tons) over the Rhein‐Herne‐Canal.
