Zusammenfassung: | The Front Cover shows the synthesis of acetic acid via dehydrogenation of a mixture of ethanol and water using a new iridium catalyst bearing a functional bipyridonate ligand with N,N‐dimethylamino substituents. In their Communication, M. Kuwahara et al. demonstrate the selective production of acetic acid from sustainable resources (ethanol and water). In addition, the recovery and reuse of the catalyst using a simple procedure was also accomplished. It should be also noted that this catalytic system would be of particular interest because it generates hydrogen as a co‐product, since hydrogen is a promising energy carrier for the future. More information can be found in the Communication by M. Kuwahara et al. on page 3636 in Issue 17, 2018 (DOI: 10.1002/cctc.201800680). |
