Zusammenfassung:The significance of N‐glycosylation on the function of glycoproteins is well recognized, but not sufficiently understood. The preparation of homogeneously glycosylated proteins by both chemical synthesis and recombinant expression remains challenging. A semisynthetic approach, based on the site‐specific incorporation of alkyne‐bearing unnatural amino acids combined with click chemistry should open up the possibility to get access to a range of defined glycosylated proteins.
