Zusammenfassung:Photoacoustic imaging enables a new strategy to monitor drug delivery, as reported by J. V. Jokerst and co‐workers in their Communication on page 4678. Here, the paclitaxel drug is tagged with redox‐active methylene blue. This drug–dye conjugate was sealed inside a poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) nanocarrier in the reduced state where it does not absorb light. When the drug–dye conjugate is released, the dye is oxidized to report the location and quantity of the cargo.
