Zusammenfassung:A powdered mixture is separated into its five components in a non‐polar paramagnetic solution in a 2.5 cm high cuvette inside a magnetic levitation device. As shown by J. S. Bozenko, G. M. Whitesides et al. in their Research Article on page 874, the method separates the compounds based on their different densities in the linear density gradient formed in the solution. The levitating compounds (image was taken with crossed polarizers) are common polar adulterants and diluents used to cut illicit drugs.
