For corrigendum see DOI:10.1002/anie.198500761 The missing link in the series of isoelectronic 10π systems S4N 42⊕ and (RC)2N4S2 is the cation (RC)N4S3⊕, R = CF3, in the salt 1. This compound was synthesized under specific conditions from (SNCl)3, CF3CN, and SO2. The cation is almost planar.
