Zusammenfassung: | The method for predicting the onset of turbulence was extended to the case of semifluids by means of a linear Bingham model. The method was applied to flow in pipes, concentric amuli, and between parallel plates. The pipeflow calculations were compared with literature data and found to agree well for N/sub He/ > (Hedstrom number) < 10/sup 5/. The deviations for N/sup He/ > 10/sup 5/ are explained as being due to the inadequacy of the simple model at high N/sub He/ values. (D.L.C.) |
