Zusammenfassung: | In article number 2100785, Lukas Maiwald, Alexander Yu. Petrov, and co‐workers address the problem of emission suppression in low‐contrast structured optical media. Special quasiperiodic structures are proposed that are designed from reciprocal space to block light propagation in all directions. A dipole placed into such a medium excites random but still exponentially decaying fields as shown in the cover image. An unprecedented suppression of nearly 10 dB is shown in structures with refractive index below 1.6. |
