Zusammenfassung:Conducting‐polymer‐based sensory materials systems are designed to exhibit ionochromic, electrochemical, and/or resistive responses to specific chemical signals. The integration of molecular recognition elements into them is described. Poly(bithiophene) undergoes a twisting of the polymer backbone upon ion complexation, producing a reduction in conductivity.
