The origin of biomimicry comes from Leonardo Da Vinci. Therefore, this illustration tries to reflect his sketches through the yellow‐brown shades. Materials inspired by nature are also represented through the sharkskin that we see under a microscope, the silk of a spider in a corner, or a longhorn beetle walking on the cover. This results in a bioinspired watercolor. This special issue (2408945) vividly demonstrates the diversity of the rich and fascinating field of bioinspired materials. |
