Zusammenfassung:The generation of near‐infrared‐sensitive microcapsules with programmable release properties is reported by Daeyeon Lee and co‐workers on page 131. Poly(DL‐lactic‐co‐glycolic) acid (PLGA) microcapsules are generated using monodisperse water‐in‐oil‐inwater double emulsions as templates. The composition of the oil phase of double emulsions and that of PLGA determine the morphology and, in turn, the release properties of microcapsules. These microcapsules enable the release of hydrophobic and hydrophilic agents in a programmed sequence.
