Zusammenfassung:The transverse mode structure of an unstable Kepler resonator is calculated. It is shown that diffraction at circular apertures produces spatial intensity peaks which may damage optical components in high-power lasers. In contrast to earlier assertions it is found that these peaks cannot be suppressed by introducing small deviation from the axial symmetry.
