Zusammenfassung: | Comparative assessment of Euler-Euler and Euler-Lagrange modelling approaches for gas-particle flows is performed by comparing their predictions against experimental data of two fluidization challenge problems put forth by National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Morgantown, WV, USA. The first fluidization challenge problem is based on a laboratory scale fluidized bed while the second fluidization challenge problem is based on a pilot scale circulating fluidized bed. It is found that both computational models predict comparable results and those results are in qualitative agreement with the experimental data. |
