Zusammenfassung:<正> Twin-free single crystals of Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe2 along <111> orientation have been grown by Czochralski method with cold crucible for the first time. Various characteristics demonstrated the twin-free and single crystalline qualities of the crystals. The optimized growth parameters have been used to keep a high G/V to overcome the constitutional supercooling. The composition design of x=1.8, or less, has been employed to avoid the peritectic reaction effectively. There are two essential conditions for the successful <111> single crystal growth of this material. Decanting method was used to provide direct evidence that the unstable growth is the origin which causes the dendrite growth and made the previous growth of <111> single crystal failed.
