Zusammenfassung: | In IPv6 based MANETs, the neigh-bor discovery enables nodes to self-config-ure and communicate with neighbor nodesthrough autoconfiguration. The Stateless ad-dress autoconfiguration (SLAAC) has provento face several security issues. Even thoughthe Secure Neighbor Discovery (SEND) usesCryptographically Generated Addresses(CGA) to address these issues, it creates otherconcerns such as need for CA to authenticatehosts, exposure to CPU exhaustion attacksand high computational intensity. These is-sues are major concern for MANETs as itpossesses limited bandwidth and processingpower. The paper proposes empirically strongLight Weight Cryptographie Address Genera-tion (LW-CGA) using entropy gathered fromsystem states. Even the system users cannotmonitor these system states; hence LW-CGAprovides high security with minimal compu-tational complexity and proves to be moresuitable for MANETs. The LW-CGA andSeND are implemented and tested to studythe performances. The evaluation shows thatLW-CGA with good runtime throughput takesminimal address generation latency. |
