A NEW METHOD FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF α-ISOPROPY-4-HYDROXYPHENYLACETIC ACID

α-Isopropyl-4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid (5) is a key intermediate for the synthesis of a new pesticide, Flucythrinate. Some methods have been reported about the preparation of compound (5). However, all these methods suffer from some disadvantages.
