Zusammenfassung:Heterocyclic azo benzoic acid compound is a kind of highly sensitive and selective chromogenic reagent for metals. M. Furukawa, Zhang Fan, Shen Hanxi et al. synthesized this kind of reagent and used it to determinate Nickel, cobalt, etc. Here, the preparation of a new compound 2-[2-(6-bromobenzothiazolyl)azo]-5-dimethylaminobenzoic acid (6-Br-BTAMB), and the chromogenic reaction of this reagent with cobalt are reported.
