CREAȚIA RELIGIOASĂ PENTRU COR DE COPII A COMPOZITORULUI ION VIDU

The year 2021 brought with it the commemoration, on February7, of the 90th anniversary of the passing to eternity of the famous Banatcomposer Ion Vidu, therefore, we considered it appropriate, as an evocationof the great teacher, conductor and composer, to approach in the following asubject that the specialized literature has never treated distinctly: its religiouscreation for children's choir. Vidu created, based on this teaching experience,works adapted to children from the Romanian school in Banat at the end ofthe 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, his religious piecesthus becoming a historical portrayal of this social reality; this fact makesthese small works even more valuable because they represent a rarity notonly from the point of view of musicological research but also from theinterpretive point of view, being rarely heard on stage.
