TIMPURI MODERNE, TIMPURI CONTEMPORANE... ÎN ISTORIA ROMÂNILOR DIN DACIA TRAIANĂ. NOTE PRELIMINARE LECTURII

The main target for this study is to be emphasized the understandings of the modernity in the A. D. Xenopol՚s Istoria Românilor din Dacia Traiană. As it is well known, Xenopol undertook a both documented and theoretical analyse of the Modernity, especially for the Romanian History. He considered the importance of the method, at the level of the documented reveal of the historical facts. Above that level, he emphasized the chains of ideas, as phenomena. From a rational perspective, with deep marks in the Aristitel՚s thought and in the Enlightenment, he considered the prevalence of the political history toward the cultural history. The Romanian modernity appears, in the Xenopol՚s view, as a “form of conscience”, certified through bothcultural and political facts. That Modernity had its beginning on the middle of the XVIIth Century and reached the level of the Romanians national emancipation during the XIX Century, even as a Contemporary historical process to the Xenopol՚s life.
