Zusammenfassung: | It was just before 10 a.m. on 30 October 1950 when a 30-year-old man got off the train at the Vlkovice station near Mariánské Lázně, West Bohemia. He got off the train and went straight to the toilet. He soon heard a knock at the door. When he opened it, there were two gun barrels pointing at him. Two men told him to follow them. The surprised man shut the door, broke the window and began to run away. He did not respond to their calls to stop, and was only brought to a halt when he was hit by a shot. But he was lucky enough to survive. The man who was seized by the security officers in this elaborately prepared State Police mission was Josef Kopecký, a courier of Czechoslovak intelligence officer Major František Bogataj. |
