Zusammenfassung:Individuals communicate with each other by fulfilling the necessity of being a social entity for different purposes. Since the existence of human beings, they have heard from each other or understood each other with many forms of communication. With the rapid and unlimited development of technology, it is inevitable to change the way people communicate. Interpersonal communication, which includes agents such as telephone or letter, and also face to face, has embraced social media with new technological developments. In today's societies, social networks and social media environments have become indispensable sharing areas of human beings and communication is carried out via internet and social media rather than being done face to face. With this study, it is aimed to investigate the effects of social media on the interpersonal communication, how individuals use social media networks, and how social media is used as the interpersonal communication tool. In order to reach the goals, a questionnaire was applied to 363 students from a foundation university in Konya and social media usage habits of the participants as a means of communication were examined. At the end of the study, it was seen that each participant who participated in the survey had an account on at least one social media platform and continuously examined their social media accounts.
