Zusammenfassung:Various types of containers were produced for the purpose of protecting and transporting agricultural products in ancient times. One of the most preferred types of vessels is amphorae. Originally produced uniformly, amphorae were produced in various forms with the development of trade and the diversification of transported materials. These amphoras, which existed from the Early Bronze Age to the Byzantine Period, spread over a large area. As a result, amphora production centers have been established in many regions. There are many amphorae registered in the inventory of Samsun Museum. These amphorae were evaluated under 11 production centers and catalog studies were made and the description of the works was achieved. It has been determined that these production centers are Chios, Rhodos, Knidos, Klazomenai, Lesbos, Samos, Thasos, Mende, Kholkis, Sinope and Ganos. Although it is very difficult to determine the place where the amphoras were produced and to create a chronology, it was tried to be dated by comparing them with similar examples and it was found that all the works continued from the 6th century BC to the 6th century AD. It is aimed to contribute to the existing literature with the results obtained as a result of the researches.
