Zusammenfassung:The work String quartet by the Moldovan composer Boris Dubosarschi was decisively influenced by the artistic heritage of the great Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. Besides the usage of tonal-modal means and intervals characteristic of Dmitri Shostakovich’s creation, in his string quartets Boris Dubosarschi, constantly makes use of the musical signature of D. Shostakovich – D-Es-C-H. This article describes the transformations that Shostakovich’s monogram undergoes in the String Quartet No.1 by B. Dubosarschi, demonstrating inventiveness and high compositional mastery in the numerous modifications to which is subjected the thematism developed out from a single thematic core, originating in the D-Es-C-H monogram.
