Zusammenfassung:This article is a case study of Romanian emigrants in Spain, people originating from the Maramureș region, and it investigates what happens to traditional artefacts in the context of migration and cultural diversity. The research focuses on traditional art items, specifically homemade fabrics, garments and costumes, and more generally on objects inherited or created by their users. It investigates the way these items are used in the context of migration, through which they gain an expository heritage value, being also used to symbolically remake the native community. The article presents, as well, the influences that these migrants havehad upon local culture back home in Maramureș.
