Zusammenfassung:Following the example of other scientific disciplines, pedagogy faces the challenge of implementing an evidence-based work model. The subject of the research is the review and analysis of the results of reports concerning the effectiveness of implementing social stories in working with the students with autism spectrum disorders at the elementary education stage. The main goal of the study is to popularize social stories as an effective method of working with such students. The reviewed literature encompassed foreign scientific journals available via electronic databases. The materials selected in the query were thoroughly analysed, particularly in terms of the subject of research, its goals and the course of an intervention with the use of a social story. Indications for the application of social stories while working with a child with the autism spectrum were identified. Taking into account the objective limitations of the presented research reports, there appears to be the need to continue the research on the effectiveness of story-based interventions.
