Zusammenfassung:Literature is the mirror of the society and in this direction, through his/her works the writer reflects all kinds of problems, faults and issues of the society in which he/she lives. In other words, the writer is influenced by the society and aims to reform the society through his/her works. These created characters contain certain human characteristics and they undertake the task of representing certain layers and classes of the society. In this direction, many characters that exist in the world literature from the past to present, have become key words in terms of expressing certain human characteristics. For instance, for many centuries Moliere's Harpagon is the first that comes to mind as the "stingy type". Madam Bovary is the most famous for the “cheating woman” type. Gonçarov's Oblomov is the first example of a sluggish character type that comes to mind. Ömer Seyfettin's Efruz Bey and Aziz Nesin's Zübük are among the most famous degenerate character types of Turkish literature. Although there is a forty year difference between the writing dates, there are many similarities between Efruz Bey and Zübük. In this study, similar aspects between two works were determined and examined comparatively.
