Zusammenfassung:The aim of this paper is to study several representations regarding the Romanian Orthodox spirituality conveyed in France within largely French speaking parishes (and a monastery) that are under the jurisdiction of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe. We also follow these representations within two French monasteries that are under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (these two monasteries are metochia, meaning that they depend on a monastery in Mount Athos) as well as in the theological and spiritual writings of archimandrite Placide Deseille, a great friend of Romania. These representations, most of them very admiring towards the Romanian spirituality, are manifested during the liturgical practice as well as by the adoption of several traditions belonging to the Romanian spirituality by French people converted to Orthodoxy. By representation, we understand the theory of linguistic and cultural imaginary promoted by Anne-Marie Houdebine.
