Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this study is to analyze the opinions of fans following the matches for recreational purpose within the scope of “Law No. 6222 on Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports” being in force since 2011 and to offer suggestions to fans, institutions and organizations concerning relevant law. The research group of the study consists of 20 volunteer participants who have been punished at least once under the Law No. 6222. In this study, a mixed method in which both quantitative and qualitative methods are used together is preferred. In the evaluation of quantitative data, descriptive statistics are used while content analysis method is used in the analysis of qualitative data. According to the quantitative findings of the study, it has been surprisingly determined that 50% of fans following the matches for recreational purpose use alcohol-drug when they go to the match of the team supported and 50% of the participants express to resort to physical violence in the stadium during the match. As per the qualitative findings, it has been stated that criminal action has been taken for the 40% of participant fans due to actions of “making a scene in sports fields-damaging facilities”, 25% of them for “carrying prohibited substance to the sports fields”, 20% of them for “cheering through insult” and 15% of them for “irregular entrance of audience to the sports fields”.Fans' opinions about violence in football are collected under 10 sub-themes.
