Zusammenfassung: | Since the 1860’s, Czech settlers were coming to the Volhynian Governorate of thetsarist Russia, where they started to found villages and cultivate the land. The paperanalyses the names of the Czech villages in Volhynia by the year 1897, recorded inthe unique list by Manuil Němeček from 1901. The names of these villages are Czechwith phonetical or word-formation changes under the influence of Ukrainian, or Ukrainianwith Czech suffixes or phonetical changes and Ukrainian, some of them witha Czech attribute. |
